Comfort & ValueMike Gray ,CanadaSeptember 25, 2014 I purchased a Britrail England Flexipass before I left home. It was great to be able to use it for the Heathrow Express train as soon as I landed at the airport. The first class lounge was available at Paddington while I waited for a train to Plymouth. This was very convenient after travelling for a total of 12 hours from my home in Canada. The service on the train was great and the trip itself was smooth and quiet.
My favourite ride was from Plymouth to Sheffield. This was part of the Penzance to Glasgow Cross Country service. The breakfast and lunch were tasty and ample. One day I want to do the complete journey.
My wife and I usually rent a car when we visit the UK but I was on my own this time to attend a 50th reunion. The most positive thing about using the trains instead of driving is that I always arrived at my destination completely relaxed. My visit to the UK was brief, only 10 days, but I arrived home without jet lag due mostly to travelling by train in the UK instead of driving.

Go First Class in EnglandTrudy Bliedung ,CanadaSeptember 22, 2014 For Seniors, it's the best deal and experience to use a 1st Class rail pass for travelling in Europe, including Britain. We have done it many times before and look forward to our next visit. Who wants to drive a car when you can be pampered on the train in First Class?

Love Rail Travel in EnglandS. Garber ,USASeptember 05, 2014 We enjoy using a BritRail pass and public transportation when we travel in the UK. Good value and maximum freedom to explore. |
Not Such A Great DealMark ,USAJuly 29, 2014 Just checked BritRail England Pass. I am going to the USA in September 2014. I plan to use the train twice, Huddersfield to York return and Huddersfield to London one way. I tried the 3 days within 2 months plan and it came to $470 USD for the two of us. I had already been on line previous to check on times and prices on
http://www.thetrainline.com/
It was way way cheaper.
Huddersfield to York return was 7.50 pounds each, about $12 USD each.
Huddersfield to London Kings Cross one way was a great price 23.60 each, about $35 USD each.
So the cost was/is about $95 USD total for the two of us versus $470 USD for the two of us.

Britrail ReviewAnne Beaulieu ,CanadaJuly 25, 2014 As a frequent buyer of BritRail passes (I've bought eight First Class passes in the past four years), I recommend traveling in England with this pass system.
Rail staff are very accommodating whenever one shows the pass. It is always instantly recognized. No need to line up for tickets. No need to worry about availability. No need to worry about time of travel or length of journey. All these considerations are covered. Especially noteworthy is the Heathrow Express train into London in 15 minutes ! Wonderful, tranquil, safe, easy to find, and always on time.
Car free travel is relaxing and very enjoyable with a BritRail pass.

Britrail England PassLynn Marshall ,CanadaJuly 22, 2014 We have used Britrail England passes in the past. It's a convenient way to travel on UK trains, but it is wise to reserve seats beforehand as we had to stand for a couple of trips. Good value for UK train travel. |
FantasticKen ,AustraliaJuly 22, 2014 We have been using the Britrail flexipass every 2 years since 2004, easy and cheap to buy online, fantastic value and so easy to use, will be buying the next one very soon for our visit to celebrate my step fathers 96th birthdayin October.

May travelLinda Snyder ,CanadaJune 27, 2014 Although I appreciated the convenience & economy my pass gave to me, I found the service & attention lacking on your trains. I travelled from Newcastle to Taunton & although the service was better on this line, a porter was nowhere to be found. (I am 68, with a large suitcase) & had to rely on the kindness of fellow male travellers. There was also no hot water on the whole stretch meaning no tea or coffee. From Taunton to Strood, once again, no help with my case & the refreshment car never appeared once. As I had purchased a first class ticket, I was quite disappointed overall. I did get help on my trip from Strood to London as I took the time to search for an employee. To his credit, he wouldn't accept a gratuity. Over all, I wonder if first class really is worth the extra in this day and age!

Top nothchBill Robson ,CanadaJune 26, 2014 This recent trip to the U.K. (my birthplace) was the third time I have used ACP. The service from start to finish was far above what I had expected on the first occasion and above reproach on the subsequent occasions.
The cost of the First Class ticket is competitive and the fact that it includes extras is, of course, a bonus. I have changed my route home to see my family now because taking the train from Heathrow to the North East is far far better than driving from Manchester.
Thank you ACP for another successful trip.
