Go-as-you-pleaseRogayah Yaacob ,Malaysia![]() The best way to travel as there is not a problem with which train to take or if you ticket is valid for this particular train etc. One drawback is that there has to be a station attendant at the barrier so that may cause a delay to the hassle-free experience as you battle with others trying to get through the barrier manned by the official. Of course when the system breaks down due to maintenance work or a derailment it can be a problem or a blessing as you battle with the unknown! Sometimes there is a bossy barrier guard who wants to see your passport too, which if you don't carry with you means you pay for a regular ticket - is that fair?

AmazingKarolin Elleringmann ,Germany![]() BritRail was amazing. I was travveling with a friend through England for 2 weeks and with the passes it was so easy to get from one place to another. And the best thing was that we could just take any train, so if we were late we could always take the next one.
It was definetely worth the money!

Great Value For a Weary TravellerToni Higgs ,Canada![]() The passes are a great value if you are travelling a lot, especially long distances. There a few negatives; such as, some trains don't have first class or enough room for luggage. I recommend always reserving a seat, if possible. Just a reminder to have your pass handy to get in and out of a station - they won't work in the automatic machines so you have to show your pass to be let through by security. The service is excellent on any of the trains! Do your research online so you always know what services are available. Relax and enjoy the ride through a beautiful county!!

Excellent ExperienceJudith Decou ,Canada![]() Having the pass was a convenient way to travel around England. There are frequent connections for the places I wanted to visit. Most trains had first class service and some had wifi too. I'd certainly buy a pass again.

UK TtravelVincent Davies ,Cyprus![]() Working out the individual "advance" fares, the pass, even if it is for first class travel is far more of a bargain when one considers the eaxtra service and comfort one gets. |
England Rail PassCharles N. Landey ,United States![]() I cannot say enough good about my experience on the England first-class rail pass. In 15 days (i.e., the purchase of two 8-day passes) I rode about 60 trains, which took me almost everywhere I needed to get. (A few buses and the London Underground filled in the gaps.) The trains were great, and the first-class cabins were almost without exception uncrowded and comfortable. The pass was honored on the Heathrow Express, and also on the English equivalent of a commuter train, which in USA would be a separate fare. |
