Had a great experience on Victoria & Gatwick Express, as well as Virgin & Link ICE trains, and locals throughout Scotland. All were very clean, on time, comfortable, and fast. Service was great. Great Value too. We loved the experience, and could only hope that, one day, we might be able to have something similar in the states.

By far the least enjoyable experience of the many times I have used the rail pass in Britain. Trains very crowded - not enough room for luggage.(had to pile the suitcases on the table in one case) Made reservations on several trains, ended up not using any of them, mostly because the trains had different numbers of coaches, apologies for the system not working not really enough. I had thought that first class was at the "London End", not true in many cases, leading to confusion/frustration. Of course, the scenery is magnificent and by rail is still better than by car. Better luck next time??

We purchased the Brit Rail Pass along with the oyster Card. Perfect way to to England and Wales. Be aware that this is your only train ticket. You will be required to ask the attendant to open the gate for you as there is no chip to do this automatically. Reservations are recommended for the busier routes and times.

You offer an invaluable service. My wife and I went from Scotland to London and Reading, then to Bath and Cardiff, Wow! All because of you and your service. It was a little intimidating at first, but once the train personnel walked us through it all was well. We could not think of a better way to see the countries with any less stress. No stress made for a very delightful holiday. Thank You from Chris and Lisa!

I strongly recommend the BritRail pass to anyone willing to visit Great Britain. It is the second time I use this service and again it hasn't disappointed me. It might seem a tad too expensive at the moment of buying it, but it is really worth the price! This past summer, I made more than 10 trips during an 8-day stay, including long-distance journeys, like London-York or Edinburgh-London, as well as short-distance trips. Most of the trains were in good conditions and, with a few exceptions --which obviously coincided with rush hours--, the trains were rarely crowded (although I recommend reserving seats a few hours before the journey, in order to avoid unpleasant surprises!). Besides, travelling by train is probably the best way to get a real idea of the vast, beautiful English countryside and the amazing Scottish coasts and fields. A very relaxing and comfortable way of moving across the British landscape. I must add all the employees from the different railway companies were always kind and helping.

The BritRail Flexi Pass was one of the best means of transportations we had during our travels. We had zero issues with validating the tickets. Ticket checks were smooth. No problems what so ever. We found the pass to be great value for money, as we had long journeys to make. If I go back to the UK, the first thing i'm doing is buying another pass! Highly recommend to fellow travellers!

It is a fair value for this pass if going far distance. You need to reserve seats or you might not get a seat and even if you reserve seats you are not guaranteed those seats. It is exhausting. However, it works on all rail lines and staff in booking offices and on trains are great and trains run frequently and close to on time. Travel light as not much space.
We are very sorry to hear that you did not fully enjoy your experience with the BritRail Pass. Depending on travel schedules and itinerary, the pass can offer some great value. With that said, we've taken note of your concerns with the BritRail Pass and we will provide the feedback to BritRail in hope it can help improve the product in the future. Thanks again for your review.
