Czech Railways (CD), Deutsche Bahn (DB) and Dutch Railways (NS) join forces to get you from Prague to Amsterdam by train, comfortably and efficiently. Over the course of the nearly 900km-long journey, you’ll travel three countries by way of three commuter trains: regional, InterCity and InterCity-Express. All offer Standard and First Class seating as well as a variety of quality onboard services and amenities to help you make the most of your trip to Holland’s capital city.

There are one to three daily routes from Prague to Amsterdam. With each route, the first train departs from Prague Hlavni Nadrazi in the afternoon, making 3-6 station changes before arriving at either Amsterdam Zuid or Centraal (Cs) the following morning.

Amsterdam is often referred to as “Venice of the North” due to its charming canals, captivating mix of medieval and modern architecture, and countless scenic bridges. Along with its capital status, Amsterdam boasts as the Netherlands’ biggest city and leader of finance, culture and creativity. Key attractions you won’t want to miss during your visit include the historic Anne Frank House, Van Gogh Museum, NEMO Science Center and Dam town square.

Prague to Amsterdam ticket fares

When booking your Prague to Amsterdam train ticket, you’ll have the choice of two fare options:

  • TCV Paper Ticket Only
    Open ticket with no time restrictions, so you are free to travel aboard any train, even during peak hours. Tickets are refundable up to the day before the departure date (a 15% cancellation fee applies). Non-refundable after departure. Refunds are limited to completely unused and unvalidated passes, tickets and exchange vouchers. Seat reservation not included.
  • Paper Ticket and Reservation
    Valid for single or return trips. Refunds are not permitted. Seat reservation is included.

Prague to Amsterdam ticket discounts

  • Child discount
    Passengers between the ages of 4 and 11 receive a discount off the adult ticket price. Children under the age of 4 travel for free when not occupying their own seat.

NOTE: discounts apply to “Paper Ticket and Reservation” tickets only.

Ticket delivery
Once your “TCV Paper Ticket Only” or “Paper Ticket and Reservation” has been processed, the physical ticket is delivered to the address you’ve provided and is valid for travel from Prague to Amsterdam by train.
