  • Anytime tickets offer full flexibility. With no time restrictions, you are free to travel aboard any train, even during peak hours.
  • Advance tickets are less expensive, but have a limited availability. The sooner you book, the less you pay. Ideal for those committed to traveling on a particular date, time and train.
  • Off-Peak / Super Off-Peak Tickets offer some flexibility, allowing you to travel aboard any train operating during off-peak hours on your ticket date. Though peak times may vary, they are typically before 9:30am and between 4:00pm and 7:00pm. Super Off-Peak tickets may be more restrictive.

Seat reservations
In most cases, a ‘Ticket on Departure’ will include a seat reservation. Exceptions include shorter journeys that don’t offer seat reservations and when the number of allocated reservable seats is filled. In either case, your ticket is still valid and you can sit in any vacant seat.

Ticket purchase conditions and delivery
Tickets for travel from Birmingham to Liverpool by train can be booked up to 3 months in advance. Refunds and exchanges are not allowed.
