Seat reservations
When booking your Virgin Trains East Coast e-ticket, the seat reservation is included in most cases. Exceptions where the seat may not be reserved at the time of booking include shorter journeys that don’t offer seat reservations or when the allocation of reservable seats is fully booked. In either case, your ticket is still valid and you can sit in any vacant seat.

E-ticket purchase conditions and delivery
E-tickets for travel from London to Edinburgh by train may be booked up to 3 months in advance. Refunds and exchanges are not allowed.

Once your e-ticket order has been processed, you will receive a receipt by email with a confirmation code (PNR). You can retrieve your physical ticket simply by inserting this code in a ticket collection machine at the station before boarding.
