  • Trenitalia E-ticket Super Economy Fare
    The least expensive option, offers variable prices depending on time of booking and travel. Ticket exchanges or refunds are not permitted. Note these tickets are available in limited numbers.
  • Trenitalia E-ticket Economy Fare
    Slightly more expensive than the Super Economy fare, and also offering variable prices depending on time of booking and travel. You will have the flexibility to exchange your ticket, in Italy, for another date or time within the same category before your train's departure. Refunds are not permitted. Note these tickets are available in limited numbers.
  • Trenitalia E-ticket Base Fare
    The base fare is not discounted, and also offers variable prices depending on time of booking and travel. Refunds are permitted up to 1 day before departure, where a 20% cancellation fee applies. You will also have the flexibility to exchange your ticket, in Italy, for another date or time within the same category before your train's departure or within 1 hour after departure.
  • Trenitalia E-ticket 2x1 Saturday Fare
    On Saturdays two people travel for the price of one adult base fare. Note these tickets are available in limited numbers.
  • Trenitalia E-ticket Bimbi Gratis Fare
    One child under the age of 15 travels for free, while up to four accompanying adults pay the base fare.

  • Italo E-ticket with Reservation – Flex
    Fully refundable up to 1 day before the departure date (a 20% cancellation fee applies). Ticket exchanges or refunds are not permitted after departure.
  • Italo E-ticket with Reservation – Economy
    Ticket exchanges or refunds are not permitted.
  • Italo E-ticket with Reservation - Low Cost
    Ticket exchanges or refunds are not permitted.

Frecciarossa train classes and services

  • Standard

    The best choice for travelers looking for a step up in comfort. Premium Class passengers are treated to ample, reclining leather seats that provide better leg room, a “welcome aboard” beverage and tasty snack, plus a complementary newspaper in the morning.
  • Business
    First Class style with more spacious reclining, leather armchairs, the option of “Quiet Zone” seating, free welcome drink, sweet or savory snack and complementary newspaper served at-seat.
  • Executive
    The most elite option, Executive Class passengers can experience the ultimate in pampering during travel: select executive seating, beverages and gourmet meals at breakfast, lunch, aperitif and dinner, plus complementary newspapers and monthly magazines.

AGV train classes and services

  • Smart
    Italo’s affordable, comfortable and convenient way to travel. Smart Class offers reclining leather seats, plus access to the Break Area, with vending machines (espresso coffee, cold drinks and snacks).
  • Comfort
    Comfort Class combines affordability with added space, offering passengers ample, reclining leather seats. Superior comfort at a sensible price.
  • Prima
    Prima Class offers upgraded reclining leather seats with soft individual armrests, a reading light and glove compartment placed between each double seat, and a welcome service with sweets and snacks as well as hot and cold beverages.
  • Club Executive
    Club Executive Class is tailored to maximum comfort and passenger privacy. Located at the head or tail of the train, this quiet section has only 19 seats. A welcome service is provided with espresso coffee, a selection of bakery or pastry products, plus hot and cold beverages. Passengers are also treated to a warm welcome on the platform, assistance with their baggage, special meals and services at their seat, and access to private lounges at select train stations.

Rome to Milan E-ticket discounts

  • Child Discount
    Trenitalia offers a discounted fare for children between the ages of 4 and 12; children under 4 years old who do not occupy a seat travel for free. With Italo, children under 2 years of age travel for free when not occupying a seat; otherwise, children of all ages who occupy a seat pay the full adult fare (unless the family fare is applicable).
  • Family discount (Italo e-ticket only)
    Children between the ages of 2 and 13 travel for free, when accompanied by at least 1 passenger over 18 years (subject to availability). This discount is valid for 2-4 passengers travelling together. Ticket exchanges or refunds are not permitted.
