FAQ – I’d like to visit a few cities in England. Can you please help me decide if a BritRail England Pass or BritRail London Plus Pass is my best choice?
The best way to choose your pass is to plan your itinerary, by making a list of the cities you want to visit, then use BritRail’s Trip Planner http://www.britrail.net/plan-a-trip to see the corresponding rail pass depending on the cities you’ve entered. The following short YouTube video is a great introduction to BritRail’s Trip Planner http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugQL1OV96Pk.
To compare the 2 passes, the BritRail London Plus Pass is perfect for day trips in the South East of England to the following city selection: Oxford, Windsor, Cambridge, Canterbury, Brighton, Portsmouth, Winchester, Bournemouth, Salisbury, Bath, Bristol, Stratford-Upon-Avon and more. This pass provides for 2 or 4 days of unlimited rail travel within 8 days, or 7 days within 15. You can also get a nice introduction of short day trips with the following YouTube video featuring BritRail’s London Plus Pass http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_S4ynADimYg.
A BritRail England Pass is also an economical choice if you are planning on staying in England, as it excludes Scotland and Wales. It includes travel throughout England so the city list is somewhat exhaustive but some popular destinations include: Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Leeds, Nottingham, York, Birmingham, Plymouth, plus all the cities mentioned in the London Plus Pass and any town in between.
